Using Lavender Oil For Wrinkles
Wrinkles, who wants them?
We all know what contributes to the appearance of wrinkles on our faces such as unprotected sun exposure, genetic predisposition, repetitive facial expressions, and overly dry skin. What can you do?
Lavender essential oil is a wonderful moisturizer, and increases blood flow to the skin tissues because it is a circulatory stimulant. This improves the skins appearance by increasing the delivery of much needed nutrients along with oxygen. All of these factors work together to promote skin health and a radiant, glowing complexion.
The essential oil is able to penetrate deep into the skin layers unlike many skin treatments that only sit on the surface layers. Read more about Lavender skin benefits.
Ways to use Lavender to Treat Wrinkles
Choose skin care that includes pure essential oil of Lavender either alone or in combination with other plant essential oils. You may also add a few drops of essential oil to good quality unscented lotions and cleansers.
The essential oil of Lavender may also be applied undiluted directly to the problem area. Sometimes I use a small eyeliner brush (set aside only for this purpose) to directly target a wrinkle or treat an acne spot.
Remember to always wear sunscreen even if you are not going to the pool or beach. Most of the skin damaging sun exposure happens on a daily basis just doing day to day things. The best wrinkle treatment starts with prevention or minimization of skin damage by the sun.
