Lavender Sugar Recipe
How to make Lavender Sugar
You may use either fresh or dried Lavender flowers to make the Lavender sugar recipe. Gather fresh Lavender flowers just prior to use choosing ones of good color or use dried culinary Lavender.
- 3 Tablespoons fresh Lavender flowers or 1 1/2-2 Tablespoons dried Lavender Flower
- 2 cups granulated sugar - I like to use raw sugar but use what you like.
Put the Lavender flowers and sugar into a container that has a lid. Stir and mix together the Lavender flower and the sugar. Some prefer to run the sugar mix in a food processor to finely chop up the flower buds into the sugar. If you wish you may do this.
Let the Lavender flower and sugar mix sit tightly sealed for a week in a cool dark place to allow the flavor to fully develop. Those that prefer not to have the Lavender buds may sift them out using a mesh sieve then storing the sugar until needed.
