What is Lavender Flower Extract?
Lavender flower extract is made from Lavender flower and can be used to enhance a variety of dishes from sweet desserts to savory main courses.
The extract is made from edible Lavender oil extracted from the flowers.
Lavender extract for baking comes in both liquid and powdered forms, sold below, below making it easy to add flavor to just about anything.
Lavandula angustifolia and Munstead are known as sweet Lavender and are the two with the best true sweet fragrance and those most often used for culinary Lavender or extract flavoring. Lavender flower extract is made from the flowers of these plants.
Use culinary Lavender flower extract just as you would other flavor extracts to enhance the flavor. Experiment with Lavender extract as the flavor can sometimes be too strong.
