How to make Lavender Lemonade
Lavender Lemonade is refreshing and simple to make. Grab some lemons and some Lavender from your garden for the simple Lavender lemonade recipe below.
To make Lavender Lemonade at home it is preferable to use fresh Lavender flower. Use dried Lavender buds or fresh flower blooms harvested from plants that are free from any possible chemicals such as fertilizers or yard sprays.
Lavender Lemonade Recipe:
Either fresh or dried Lavender flowers may be used to make this Lavender Lemonade recipe. Harvest Lavender flowers just prior to use picking ones with bright flower color or use dried culinary Lavender placed in a tea strainer.
Place 1/3 cup fresh Lavender or1/4 cup dried Lavender flower in a container and pour 2 cups of boiling water over. Allow the Lavender to steep in the liquid about 5-10 minutes depending on the desired intensity of flavor. Remove Lavender and add 3/4 cup of sugar to the hot water. Mix well to dissolve.
Fill a large glass pitcher with ice and squeeze in the juice from 6-8 fresh lemons. Get as much of the juice and pulp out of each lemon as possible. Next add the hot Lavender water to the pitcher pouring over the ice. Stir and add more ice if needed to fill the pitcher.
Adjust sweet tart ratio to your liking by adding more sugar or lemon. You may add fresh lemon slices and a fresh Lavender flower sprig to each glass or to the pitcher for garnish. Monin Lavender syrup may be used as well which is quite handy when the plant is not in bloom and is a simple way to get that Lavender flavor. Lavender Lemonade is as refreshing as it is delicious!
