Lavender flower extract is made from Lavender Flower and can be used to enhance a variety of dishes from sweet desserts to savory main courses.
Lavandula angustifolia and Munstead are known as sweet Lavender and are the two with the best true sweet fragrance. Lavender flower extract is made from the flowers of these plants.
Use culinary Lavender flower extract just as you would other flavor extracts to enhance the flavor. Experiment with Lavender extract as the flavor can sometimes be too strong. This herbal extract can be substituted for Rosemary in just about any recipe. I also like to combine Lavender and vanilla in cookies and cakes.
